Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026This policy explains what information The Auto Junkie ("we", "us", "our") collects when you visit theautojunkie.com (the "Site"), how it is used, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form. If you message us, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message so we can reply.
- Newsletter ("Pit Pass"). If you subscribe, we collect your email address to send the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Ask the Junkie. Questions you submit to our AI assistant are sent to our AI provider to generate a response. Don't include sensitive personal information in your questions.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider and analytics may automatically record standard log data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring pages, and the pages you visit. This helps us keep the Site secure and understand which content is useful.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, measure traffic, and serve advertising. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how the Site works.
Advertising and Google AdSense
We display advertising to support the Site, including ads served by Google AdSense. To help you understand how this works:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.
- For more information about how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see Google's policy.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, and other regions with applicable laws will be asked for consent where required before non-essential and advertising cookies are set.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its content.
- To respond to your messages and send the newsletter you requested.
- To display and measure advertising.
- To protect the Site against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site — for example our hosting and forms provider (Netlify), our advertising partners (Google), and our AI provider for the assistant feature — and only as needed to provide those services, or where required by law.
Third-party links
The Auto Junkie is a source-first aggregator: most article cards link to external publishers. When you follow an outbound link, you leave our Site and the destination's own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites.
Your choices and rights
- Adjust or block cookies through your browser.
- Opt out of personalized ads using the links above.
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email.
- Request access to or deletion of the personal information you've given us by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
